Does Subaru do engine swaps?
Let us first say, there are no truly easy Subaru swaps and every swap has it’s own challenges. A lot of work goes into any swap. There are wiring changes, mount changes, mechanical changes, etc and these all depend on what engine and chassis are going to be used.
How do I get rid of AVCS?
In order to delete exhaust avcs on dual avcs heads, you just need to swap in non-avcs exhaust cams, cam gears, and get non-avcs cam seals for each side. Leave the solenoids installed, but you obviously won’t have connectors to plug them into on the exhaust side.
Do you need to swap engines on a Subaru Forester?
Swapping may have made sense pre-2002, before we had any of Subaru’s turbo cars stateside. These days they are so cheap and readily available that there really is no need to reinvent the wheel, especially for a daily driver. Now for those who enjoy wrenching on a project car and don’t mind dealing with issues and downtime, swap away!
How do you swap an engine in a Subaru?
To do this swap the steps are as as “simple” as, pull the engine from the chassis, swap the cross member, put the new engine in, hook up power steering, AC, exhaust, and radiator. Assuming the wiring harness is sent to us, it would just plug back into the chassis and the new engine and the car is done.
Are there any swaps on this forum for SG Foresters?
There are plenty of swaps on this forum! Mikedrives01 has an EJ257 swapped in his SF I’m sure the SG foresters would be easier to swap since the XT is in the US but it would be the 255 block in those. I’m sure it’d be easier to just start with an XT but that’s no fun!
What kind of engine does a Subaru GC use?
For a GC Chassis (1993-2001 Subaru) we suggest a 2001-2005 JDM WRX (EJ205/7 or V7/8) or a 2002-2007 USDM WRX or STi. To do this swap the steps are as as “simple” as, pull the engine from the chassis, swap the cross member, put the new engine in, hook up power steering, AC, exhaust, and radiator.
