Rabbit was the original name of the Golf/Rabbit platform which was changed to Golf in the second generation. VW brought back the Rabbit name with the MK5 and dropped it again for Golf for MK6/7. So if you live in the US and have a MK5 you have a Rabbit. If you live elsewhere in the world it’s still known as a Golf.
