1.1 mi. 45 min. Moderate While this trail is only a little more than a mile, note that you have to travel along part of the Homestead Trail and Flint Rock Loop Trail to get here, so pace yourself. The views of Williamson Creek are worth the trek!

Swimming at McKinney Falls is kid-friendly! The Upper Falls has deeper water, so for younger children, we recommend the Lower Falls. If you have younger kids that aren’t ready for the swimming holes, there are still plenty of great spots around the park to hike and fish.

In the summer, this is a popular swimming hole, but the sign we saw said dogs are not allowed in the water. There are, however, two hiking trails – both 2.8 miles long – where leashed dogs are welcome.
