How do you use clumping cat litter?

How do you use clumping cat litter?

With clumping litter, scooping is easy because urine clumps into fairly solid chunks which can be scooped out while sifting the clean litter back into the box. Poop gets coated with the litter so that it doesn’t stick to the scoop. The litter box should be scooped a minimum of twice daily, and more often if needed.

Non-clumping is where the constituent litter particles do not clump together (i.e. they remain as separate particles) despite being soaked in urine.

Why would you want non-clumping litter?

Non-clumping cat litter is good at removing odors associated with cat urine because it has the ability to absorb relatively large volumes of urine. Some people prefer non-clumping litter because it is often less expensive than clumping litter, and others choose it because their cats prefer it.
